Run by artists since 1768, the RA is a place where art is made, exhibited and debated.
The Meddling Fiend
“Dead matter still has a lot of agency, a lot of presence.”
Watch artist Nicola Turner talk about how she created her sculpture 'The Meddling Fiend' in the RA courtyard for the Summer Exhibition 2024.
Turner took the statue of Sir Joshua Reynolds as her starting point and turned to the artist’s works for source material. In her own practice, Turner explores the boundaries between life, death and the liminal spaces in between, and it is these themes that she identified in Reynolds’s later works.
Turner uses sheep fleeces, chair stuffing, old horsehair mattresses and found objects including grand piano legs in her work. These objects in themselves hold traces of different histories and give new life to what would otherwise be discarded.
The Summer Exhibition 20204 runs from 18 June - 18 August 2024.

Saya pikir negara eropa semua gila, ternyata hanya sebagian kecil, lebih kecil (micro)
My younger brother draw better than him
I thought I was a terrible artist… until I watched this video
Nobita 😂😊
Wtf
I used to draw such type of painting 🖌️ when I was 5 years old 😂
666 luciferina
Where's his shirt?
Przerażające to jest...
DEMOISELLES D'AVIGNON is a Masterpiece. This is a drawing of a chicken he made.
he and Dali ! are the best funny actors, and characters of their own fame !
Yes, in ancient art, renaissance art, barock art etc. there was a lot of nudity. But it was painted on canvas or carved in marble by masters, which took months to paint / craft and decades to master. It wasn't just some lazy shit like putting nude people in a hallway.
Jesus is King. Jesus is Love. Jesus is and will be forever my one and only true Lord and Savior.
His name is expensive. Not the painting.
What's that Bullshit? Its Picassoo's I don't care! What's that bullshit?
Today i found that in my 1st grade i drew masterpieces.
What is this? A chicken devil?
No vodka for you
He's not an artist with his painting, but with his ability to fool people into thinking he's an artist and that's art in and of itself
Simply Nonsense...!
and when it rains?
Finally a really artist ❤
Source of this awesome talent - Marijuana
what a brilliant piece of shit 🔥👏🏻
The guy smoking looks cooler
I'm honestly more impressed by the fact that they created a video with sound in 1955
Fun
Can somebody explain what does this mean...?
No matter how subjectively beautiful art is, you can never understand the creator's purpose or perspective, and that leaves us to imagine its value.
Italians (some) are the greatest BS artistes of all time. They can sell you absolute garbage for huge sums of money. I prefer Norman Rockwell instead - he is one the finest artists ever.
Most beautiful physco of the century stupid fellow
Wow, such a beautiful, eerie presence. It really does feel like watching something consume.
Don’t get it. Sorry
When I'm drunk, I draw like this.
Try four hours
It's never about how good or how esthetic you paint that makes you one of the greatests. It's never been the case. The ability to imagine does. The ability to never let the ability of imagination to die. That's what it means to be an artist.
I wrote this because many people and audience in the comment section are making fun of his childlike drawings but it's funny that when most of us are presented with a piece of blank paper and pen , there's nothing that comes to the mind and people will be thinking hard and hard what to paint and sketch. It's always that the vision and confidence surpasses.
with all respect it looks like sh##. a 3 year old can do the same.
with all respect it looks like sh##. a 3 year old can do the same.
His paintings are all disgusting ! He was no Rembrandt nor Norman Rockwell who were the real greatest artists !
Go and see his paintings in Google , those are called abstract art not everyone can understand their beauty except real artists
Old dude with no shirt draws like a 6 year old Everyone: that's 50 million dollars!
Straight out of Harry Potter
Who called this masterpiece . Idiots
The best thing with picaso's painting is that anybody can do them with his right hand and also with his left hand.
❤
This is art. Picasso is one of the most important artists ever
Yet if I painted something similar it would be thrown in the bin. Everything in a NAME. Banksy sold some of his works on a street corner (undercover)...most went unsold, some oy sold for a few quid. The irony is that some passers by insulted his work. Then days later he announced what he did. Now the owners of the pictures they purchased for next to nothing- have highly valuable peices of Banksy art. It's just like fashion brands...your buying into a name ONLY.
@@Sam-zu5mr picasso has achieved many things. Thats why he is an important artists. At the end this is what he thought of art, so its art.
@@Vontonone ok. I call it trash, but for every intelligent person in this world- theres many other gullible people also. My children have painted better🤣
i can draw better shits then this person
She's no Kathe Kollwitz.
There were cameras during picasos time HUH?😂
there is a reason most of the professional art world creating all of the content that occidentals import do not consider their european elites as art masters... just the equivalent of a tiktok influencer 😂
It’s shit . And we all know it
